समय Samaya
My teacher has been encouraging me to go deeper into my understanding of time since the beginning of this year. The word in sanskrit that I know for time is kala but this is not the word that she is using. In the teachings that she has been giving daily the word that she uses is Samaya. Samaya refers to time but more specifically 'the right time to do something'.
Every day is the right time to focus on time, to contemplate time, to understand time, to develop my relationship with time. Applying what I learn to my daily life has been very useful. I discovered that I am more focused when I do something. There is a clearer intention to doing whatever it is that I am doing. It has not been perfect by any means but it has been fun to continue to do it even after I have forgotten.
This week is the time for us to focus on our shoulders, arms and hands. We all have our own relationship with these parts of the body. I hope that our focus on them this week can help you to develop a new relationship with them.
I look forward to seeing you in class
Blessings
