Strength
I hope you are all getting into the holiday season spirit and also hope that you are staying warm. There is something in the air at the end of the year. It is something that I could recognize even as a kid. The strength of love in many of its forms.
This week we will continue to focus on the upper body strength but we are going to pay attention to deeper muscles in the torso. This deeper muscles require not only slower and subtler movements but also careful physical introspective attention. This kind of movement is very conducive to connecting to a deeper sense of being so it is very meditative.
Approaching our yoga practice like this can help us to better feel the muscles closer to the spine and also can help us develop awareness of a central axis or channel within the body. In yoga philosophy this central axis is called the sushumna. It is said that all the feelings and emotions that we experience throughout our life are felt along this axis.
I look forward to seeing you in class
Blessings
