Śrī

I have been contemplating what would be a great thought to keep in mind as we close 2020 and welcome 2021. The Sanskrit word Śrī (pronounced shree) keeps coming to mind again and again. This is a beautiful word filled with bright meaning. Śrī denotes: Auspiciousness, Beauty, Sacredness, Abundance, Nobility, Dignity, and Good Fortune.

This year has presented difficult challenges for everyone around the world. It may feel like spiritual bypass to look for the silver lining in the middle of all the 'shtuff' that we have been through. So without wishing it to be any different than what it is and accepting that we may have to look very hard for it, I invite you to find what about this year has been Šrī for you.

Personally there has been a lot of healing for me. My dad had covid and he is over 80 years old. So as cliché as it sounds I discovered that big and small issues that I had with him ultimately did not really matter. I was able to see him more as a human being for whom I do have a lot of love. The same was true for an ex partner, many relatives, and friends. All of this healing is auspicious, beautiful, sacred, abundant, noble, dignifying, and a portent of good fortune. It is Śrī.

As we welcome the new year 2021 it would be an amazing endeavor to let all the qualities of Śrī guide our day to day actions throughout the year. We don't have to know what will happen in 2021 but whatever it brings Śrī will light the way.

This year I am taking a pause from teaching from Monday December 28th to Friday January 1st. I am really looking forward to resting and getting more energized to start teaching again on Saturday January 2nd.

See you all in the New Year.

Happy New Year 2021!!!
May you all have a Śrī filled brand new year!!!
