Opening to Possibility

I long time ago I was looking for some form of exercise to practice. Weight lifting or running or other sports did not appeal to me. I decided to try the physical part of yoga since I was already doing other yoga practices. I was very surprised to enjoy it even though it was a very difficult practice. I just did it because it was fun to be in a room with other people working on the different poses. It was like being in a journey together for one hour and a half. I remember at that time I did not have many expectations except being stronger, more flexible, and a few pounds off would be great. I felt very open to possibility as I continued to practice.

Opening to possibility is something I work on regularly. I remind myself this specially when I can't see an outcome I feel ok with. I also remember something my teacher said about things not manifesting exactly as we expect them to. We can work on them but ultimately things come along in their own way. All of this does not mean that we don't participate in the process. Moreover it is an invitation to participate.

Life, the Universe, Consciousness, however one chooses to call it keeps surprising us over and over again. This happens at all levels. Not long ago scientists thought that black holes were an abnormality that seldom appeared in the Universe. Now they found them popping all over space. Possibility.

As you come to class remember it is not whether you will do a handstand or touch your toes this week. What matters is that you participate in your own way in this process we call yoga. Be open to whatever develops from your practice. Appreciate it, cherish it, share it.

Blessings
